Washington, D.C.-The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation will co-host with the Vietnamese American community a giant rally on Sunday, April 15, in Southern California under the title, "Justice Day for the Victims of Communism."More than 10,000 Vietnamese Americans and others are expected to fill Bolsa Grande Stadium in Westminster, California (Orange County) in support of the Victims of Communism Memorial. Authorized by Congress to honor the more than 100 million victims of communism, the Memorial is scheduled to be dedicated on June 12 in Washington, D.C. Members of Congress, diplomatic representatives from former communist countries, local government officials, and more than 50 internationally-renowned artists and entertainers are expected to participate in the April 15 California rally which will last from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to honoring the victims of communism, the Memorial will honor those who successfully resisted communism and educate the present and future generations about communism's crimes against humanity. Those crimes continue to this day as more than 1 billion people live under communism-and not by their choice-in China, Vietnam, North Korea, and Cuba. For more information about the April 15 rally or the Victims of Communism Memorial contact Lee Edwards at 202-608-6186 (tel) or lee.edwards@heritage.org (email).
